Law360 (August 31, 2022, 3:05 PM EDT) — Hall Benefits Law has strengthened its C-suite by promoting a former special consultant to chief growth officer, the national boutique benefits firm announced Wednesday.

Vasu Pathak, who joined the firm in 2020, began his new role June 27 at the Atlanta headquarters alongside Managing Partner Anne Tyler Hall and Chief Marketing Officer David Hall.

In an interview with Law360, Pathak said he was thrilled about filling out the new position at the firm, which specializes in Employee Retirement Income Security Act issues.

“You know, when your alarm clock rings at 6 a.m., you either just jump out of bed with a spring in your step or you kind of crawl out,” he said. “I definitely am jumping out with a spring because I’m excited about the growth, but also, more importantly, I’m proud of the way HBL handles business, and that’s in all aspects.”

As special consultant, Pathak concentrated on creating firm-wide initiatives to recruit and retain talent.

In his new role, he’ll be in charge of continuing the firm’s growth by overseeing attorney and support staff onboarding and development and working with firm leadership on strategic goals.

But Pathak said his initial priorities extend beyond just standard revenue goals.

“We really feel we have a dream team here,” he said. “It’s just as important to retain the amazing attorneys we have at the firm and really, truly have this be a place where we don’t just pay lip service to our values. We really are completing commitments or professional growth for all employees and helping business owners sleep at night. A lot of my metrics tend to be pretty standard when it comes to numbers, but a lot of them are more just living up to the firm that HBL is trying to be.”

Pathak has also been an associate attorney at Rajan LLP and a compliance specialist at American Income Life Insurance Co.

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University and a law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Meanwhile, Katie O’Fallon, previously reinsurer relationship manager at Gallagher Re, is now HBL’s law office manager in Atlanta.

O’Fallon will be responsible for managing procedural aspects at the firm, as well as client intake and maintenance of legal files. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a marketing concentration from Kennesaw State University.
